Our Practice
Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Smith specializes in breast reconstruction. His primary Orange County office is located in the Irvine Medical Center Plaza, conveniently near the junction of the San Diego (405) Freeway and the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, a quick drive from Newport Beach, Riverside, Huntington Beach or nearly anywhere in Orange County. Dr. Smith performs most breast reconstruction surgeries at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, South Orange County. He performs the majority of outpatient surgical procedures at the Laguna Hills Surgery Center.
Kathy Waterman - RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant)
Kathy is an RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) who works closely with Dr. Smith in all aspects of patient care. She is certified as a CNOR with 28 years of operating room and nursing experience. You will meet Kathy when you come in for your initial consultation. When you are ready to schedule your procedure she and the rest of our team will assist you in making your surgical experience as easy and stress-free as possible.
Valerie Gilbert - Aesthetician
We want to extend a friendly welcome to our new aesthetician, Valerie Gilbert. With more than 18 years of experience in the beauty business, Valerie is a cosmetic industry veteran. She performs a full range of aesthetic services for skin rejuvenation, including resurfacing and renewing treatments. She also specializes in cosmetic tattooing or "micropigmentation," which can be used to add definition to facial features or camouflage scars and imperfections. Valerie has a special interest in permanent makeup for breast reconstruction surgery patients and is highly skilled in performing areola re-pigmentation. Women at our office are already raving about the results she achieves, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her.
Jessica Waterman - Scheduling Coordinator
Jessica has been a member of Dr. Smith's staff since 2006. Along with answering patient questions, Jessica enjoys learning about all the procedures performed at the practice. She schedules pre- and post-operative visits as well as surgeries for both plastic and reconstructive patients. She enjoys bonding with patients and getting their feedback about their surgical experience.
Katrina Daymude - Patient Coordinator
Katrina will be your resource for information regarding various cosmetic procedures. At your initial consultation, she discusses information regarding your procedure, postoperative surgery, cost estimates, and will be your first contact person regarding any issues leading up to surgery and during your postoperative recovery period.
Karlene Watson - Insurance Coordinator
Karlene brings to us her experience in the medical field from the past 25 years. Karlene will be working with the doctor, patients, and insurance companies to ensure that patients' medical insurance needs are met.
